First Day of Kindergarten

Well, the day has finally arrived. The boys were so excited for their first day of school. They looked so grown up as we walked over to the school. They were told by the teacher's to wear their favorite shirt today. Benjamin picked his new G.I Joe shirt. Brandon wore his Utah Jersey. There were two reason for this choice. One because he loves his UTES and two because tonight is also Utah's first game of the season. I told him that I had bought him new things for the first day of school and he informed me that "football is more important." They also told me last night that it was ok if I cried when I dropped them off. I have to admit I got a little anxious as they walked through the door, but no tears. They are more then ready and this mom was also more then ready for them to start school. I will post later and let you all know what great adventures were had to day.

Slip and Slide

Some friends of ours invited us over to slip and slide down this big hill behind their house. They had bought a tarp that went the length of the hill. The boys had a great time. This was our end of summer event. They put soap on the plastic and it made the kids and adults go down even faster. It was a great night!

Benjamin's lost tooth

Benjamin lost his first tooth!! We had been to the dentist that morning and he told us that he had a loose tooth, but we did not think that it would fall out that night. He was so excited. He got a dollar from the tooth fairy.

End of Summer

Summer is coming to a close and we are counting down the days until the boys start Kindergarten. We did some fun things this summer and here are some pictures. They are not in chronological order because I am still learning how to use Blogger. Hope you all had a great summer too.

Rachel's 30th birthday party. Yes that is right I turned the big 30 and so I threw myself a pool party. The kids had a great time and the adults had a great time talking. Brandon was in the pool that day for 4 hours.

Sandy City has an annual hot air balloon show every August. We woke up at 5:30am and went to the park. We got there a little early so we got to see it all. It was very neat but next year we will not go so early. Brandon had a favorite balloon and when we got home he was delighted when he saw it fly over our house and land at the school. He said it was the best day ever.

The boys and I rolled are change one day and we decided that we would use that money to have a little fun this summer. We spent the day at Boondocks. It was the first time that we had ever gone miniature golfing as a family. They had a great time. We also did the go carts and played laser tag. It was a fun staycation.

We went to the South Towne expo center to look at all the floats before they were in the days of 47 parade. The boys voted for their favorites. The floats were so cool. People sure put a lot of hard work into building them.

Draper days is a family tradition in our family. This year was the first time we were not in the parade. It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy it. The boys got sooooo much candy.

Fourth of July was filled with lots of fireworks, watching and lighting them, and yummy root beer floats. It was a great night and a great time to remember how lucky we are to live in this great country.

Bluffdale Days

Today we spent the day in Bluffdale for Bluffdale days. Our cousins were marching in the parade and we went to cheer them on. We had a great time. We saw Swoop our favorite mascot and had to take a picture with him. The boys came home with so many things from all the carnival games. There was a helicopter there and you could pay for a ride. Bob and the boys wanted to go and so for Father's Day that is what Bob got. They had a blast. These pictures are what bob took in the helicopter and when I get my aunts memory card to work I will post the pictures I took from the ground.

Soccer

Benjamin played soccer this spring. He was the star of the team and had a blast. It did help that he has played since he was three and there were only two other experienced players of the team.

Wheeler Farm

We had a pre-school field trip to Wheeler Farm. Here are some pictures from our fun day on the farm.

Dinosaur Museum

My mom was in town for a visit so while she was here we went to Thanksgiving Point to the dinosaur museum. I can't believe that in the five years we have lived here we had never been. It was very cool and we had a great time. While we were there I ran into a friend of mine from Reno. What a small world it is. Here are some pics.
